The government plans to build a toll road that will connect the city of Solo with the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Klaten Regency will be the area that has the most impact on the construction of the freeway, because most of these routes will cross the Klaten area.
Solo-Jogja Toll is the policy of the president’s national strategy. The regent of Klaten hopes that with the existence of the toll road, the Klaten Regency will not only be a track city but will take the opportunity in the rest area and also the toll exit so that the hopes of the toll road are getting better, the economy in Klaten will also be better.
Sri Mulyani as the regent of Klaten claimed to have held talks with developers or state-owned enterprises that would be trusted to work on the national project.
At the meeting, the regent of Klaten proposed that the Klaten community play a role in managing the rest area, with the hope that 50 percent of the Klaten District Government and the community would have a role.
Later in Klaten Regency there will be 2 toll exits and 2 rest areas. Solo-Jogja Toll Road, will pass 8 sub-districts in Klaten Regency. From the direction of Solo, the toll road will pass in Polanharjo District and 6 other sub-districts. But for the certainty of its location, it is still waiting for the governor’s decree (SK).
