Bambang Teguh Setyo, a former Head of the Klaten District Education Office, on Wednesday April 24, 2019 began trial at the Corruption Court, in Semarang.
Bambang Teguh was charged with managing bribes from the parties up to Rp 1.67 billion in the case of a position sale and purchase which also involved former Klaten Regent Sri Hartini.
Dody Sukmoyo as a public prosecutor at the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK, which in his indictment described that the defendant was suspected of receiving bribes of up to Rp. 1.67 billion.
The bribe is sourced from parties who want to occupy certain positions in the related service. After the money is collected, the plan will be deposited with Sri. Submission of the money is allegedly related to promotions and transfers in the Klaten District Education Office.
Bambang has a role in managing the money that has been collected from those who want to rise in office. To be able to fill in certain posts, there is a kind of fee or money that must be deposited.
To occupy a position as head of field, then someone must deposit as much as Rp 200 million. As for the position of head of section, then the money paid is Rp. 30 million.
The term deposit is replaced with thanksgiving in this case.
Bambang Teguh was charged with violating the provisions of Article 11 and also Article 12 letter a of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to the First Criminal Code.
The handling of this case is part of the continuation of the case of bribe of sale and purchase from former Klaten Regent Sri Hartini. Sri was convicted at the first court level and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
