Joglo is a traditional house from the Javanese community or from other regions in the Republic of Indonesia which consists of 4 main pillars.

Traditional Javanese houses are divided into 2 parts, namely the main house and additional houses. The Motherhouse consists of several parts, namely as follows:

1.Pendapa / Pendopo
This section is in front of the house. Generally used for formal activities, such as meetings, dances, puppet art performances and traditional ceremonies. The room shows an intimate and open attitude, though Pendopo is often made authoritative and magnificent.

2.Pringitan
This section is between Pendapa and Rumah Dalam / Omah Njero. Pringitan has a shape like a porch in the form of three square and facing the pavilion.

3. Emperan
Is a link between pringitan with omah njero. It can be named as the front porch because it’s about 2 meters wide. Emperan is used as a place to receive guests, a place to relax, and for other public activities. In general, there will be a pair of wooden chairs and a table.

4. Omah Njero
Omah njero is usually also called omah mburi, dalem ageng, or just omah.

5. Senthong Kiwa
Located on the right and consists of several rooms. Serves as a bedroom, a place to store food supplies, warehouses and various other functions.

6. Senthong Tengah
Being in the middle of the inside. Often also called the name pedaringan, boma, or krobongan. Because of its position far inside the house, this part is functioned as a place to store valuable objects, such as family property or heirlooms such as kris, etc.

7. Senthong Tengen
This part is similar to Senthong Kiwa, either in function or division of space.

8. Gandhok
Is an additional building whose position surrounds the back side and also the side of the core building.

Joglo has several types, including the Joglo ceblokan, Joglo lambangsari, Joglo kepuhan limolasan, Joglo kepuhan awitan, Joglo kepuhan lawakan, Joglo want, the Joglo Jompongan / Jompongan Pokok, Joglo Limasan Lawakan / Joglo Lawakan., Joglo Sinom / Sinom Apitan, Joglo Hageng, Joglo Pangrawit, Joglo Mangkurat, Joglo Kudus, Joglo Semar Tinandhu, Joglo Jepara, Joglo Pati and Joglo Rembang
