Puri Maerokoco or people often refer to it as Taman Mini Jawa Tengah Indah is one of the attractions in Semarang located on Jl. Yos Sudarso, Tawangsari, West Semarang, Semarang City, Central Java or approximately 5 kilometers from Tugu Muda, Maerokoco Castle, including from the PRPP area, namely the Central Java Development Promotion and Promotion Center. Maerokoco Castle summarizes all traditional houses commonly referred to as platforms consisting of 35 regencies and cities in Central Java. Inside the house / platform, industrial and handicraft products are produced from each region. In addition to displaying traditional houses, Puri Maerokoco tourist attraction is also equipped with several water recreation facilities such as boats, water bikes and trains for visitors. Maerokoco Castle is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. And of course it’s easy to reach by private vehicles or public transportation.
History
The name Puri Maerokoco was inspired by one of the Mahabarata epics which tells the desire of a goddess to have a thousand buildings overnight. Around 1980, Governor Ismail inaugurated “Taman Mini” Maerokoco. Maerokoco Park was built around 1993. Maerokoco Park occupies an area of 23.84 hectares and consists of many platforms from 35 regencies / municipalities from Central Java. The design of the Maerokoco Park has a distinctive characteristic of Central Java architecture. Maerokoco Park is realized by an island which is a picture of a miniature of Central Java which is bordered by the Java sea and the Indonesian Ocean and the land of West Java and East Java. Outside the Maerokoco miniature, there is a 6 meter wide road that can be used for mini trains, etc.
