In the initial planning the Jogja-Solo road will cross the northern Klaten region. There are around 38 villages in 7 sub-districts that will be affected by the construction of 60 kilometers of toll roads. The Toll Road Project is actually a national strategic project from the president and the governor has also agreed and the regent of Klaten also supports it even though it is heavy. Hopefully Klaten is not just a track city, but can benefit from this project.
7 sub-districts that will be crossed include Prambanan Subdistrict, Karangnongko Subdistrict, Kebonarum District, Ngawen District, Jatinom Sub-District, Tulung Sub-District, and Polanharjo District. In 2019 it was only until the first land acquisition was carried out by the central government. Whereas the construction of new toll road infrastructure will begin in 2020. The total land needed to support the Toll Road project reaches 300 ha.
In the Jogja-Solo Toll Road Project 2 rest areas will be prepared in a number of points on the toll road. One of them is on the toll exit and another in Gergunung Village, Klaten Utara sub-district. With the existence of the rest area, hopefully handicraft products in Klaten Regency can be better known by the wider community. And on the route that crosses Klaten Regency, there is 1 (one) exit toll that is likely to be in Desa Tempursari, Kecamatan Ngawen, but the exit of the toll road is still being reviewed.
