Form
The shape of the Karanganyar Regency symbol is a 5-angled shield that is lightly colored with light brown, b’tepian (plisir) white, the contents of the painting in the form of a basic red-colored hexagon with white edges.
Fill and Color
On the shield are described 14 kinds of natural objects, buildings, and plants whose layout is arranged artistically, 4 outside, 10 inside the hexagon, and consisting of:
- Outside the hexagon.
- Above the hexagon is a golden yellow pentagon star.
- On the left side of the hexagon is a sprig of rice containing 17 yellow grains.
- On the right side of the hexagon is a sprig of cotton, consisting of 8 white cotton, 4 yellow flowers, and 5 green leaves.
- In the hexagon there are:
- A banyan tree with 4 rooted roots is dark green.
- A light blue bend or gamelan instrument under the banyan tree.
Black mountain is alas bende. - Dark green rice fields & white waterways at the foot of the mountain.
- 2 white sugarcane stems that stand on rice fields that encircle the bende.
- The arrangement of 8 tea leaves in the form of light brown wings in the middle of rice fields.
- A yellow dagger, framed or black engraved and stands upright in the middle of the tea leaves.
- Yellow toothed wheel which is under the tea leaves.
- 5 black chains on the wheels.
- 2 white pointed bamboo shoots that limit rice fields on the right & left.
Meaning
- 5-angled shields, keris & pointed bamboo are symbols of rejection of danger based on Pancasila.
- Bintang symbolizes the majesty of God & awareness and provisions of religious people in the area of Karanganyar Regency which animates the Government in carrying out its duties.
- The hexagon symbolizes the area of Karanganyar Regency which borders 6 regions, namely Prov. East Java, Kab. Wonogiri, Kab. Sukoharjo, Surakarta Municipality, Kab. Boyolali, and Kab. Sragen.
